Open Reduction External Fixation

Thats what I went in for....

They actually only did the bone graft without the rebreaking of old fractures. The original idea was to unpick the fractures around the ankle area and straighten the angle that my foot had grown too. When straightened it would be held in place by pins and plates etc. My surgeon, Mr Hook, deceided after cutting me open, that the lower part of my ankle had healed really well and that the risk of unpicking these old fractures was too great. He did, however, make a hole in my tibia and scrape all the crap bone away. He then refilled and packed new bone into the void (bonegraft). This should enable what was the non-union to reunite and grow strong again. Pic number '19012006(002).jpg' was taken at 2am after plenty of morphine. I felt rotten and thought that a picture was in order so I could see what state i was in.
