So now for the engine to come out. I started by myself and at just the nick of time Mark showed up. Getting to the 2 awkward bolts that hold gearbox and engine together can be a bit tricky, but we got there.

Next thing you know its hanging from the crane.

Clutch off.

New Clutch fitted and starter motor taken off for service. I stripped the thread on the small bolt used for one of the electrical connections. Luckly it was brass so i've soldered a wire on to it. Not a bad thing as i find that the wires take a beating under there when offroading. One day i'll sort the others out, but at the moment we're only fixing what's broken.

Good old Bob.... He's like a blister ~ Only turns up after the work is done!!!!!

New release bearing fitted.

Look what happened to the old one. Aparently it all gets a bit hot in there and the plastic caseing that holds the bearing in the clutch fork kinda melts!

Ok, so, enough of the engine for a while...... back to the bodymounts.... and let the rain come down :o(

Not a Problem. I'll build a tent over us!!

I didn't want to try and undo the clutch pipe, far too scared of breaking it and having to replace more stuff. This is a budget job and i've already overspent.

Ahhhhhhh Mark the Welder finally turns up!!! A bit of rain never hurts anyone...

After a bit of cutting and welding we had to undo the damn clutch pipe. A bit of heat from the nearby welding done the trick!

And a bit more cutting and welding. New mounting rubbers and a bit of plate

Throw some metalic grey paint I had lying around at it, and job done, well, that side anyway.

This side, as you can see was a bit worse due to the movement of the pedal box when braking. Nothing Mark's substandard welding can't sort out. MORE plate... More welding! (and more paint)! Another problem to tackle. The lower door mount has split and requires attention.

After a late night, i decide that the best way to get the engine back in was to get up early and crack on. I was not looking forward to this as the only other engine/gearbox I have mated before was on my Series 2a and that was a complete nightmare as my wife remembers.

Ok, engine in after a bit of elbow grease!

Both bodymounts are now happy. I'm hoping that everything lines up later on when the wings go back on because "of course we measured it all" !!!!
